Land Speed Car Construction
This is the car as found in a field in Quanta, Texas. It was full of bullet holes and had a floor pan that was completely rusted out. This car was unrestorable. Had to borrow tires from our long time friend Delbert Wilson. He lives in Childress, TX and was the guy who located the car. Rod is under the car and removeing the drive shaft. The car was towed back to Walla Walla, Washington on a car dolly.
The Beginning. Getting a 53 Studebaker Coupe.
The first picture shows the body being hoisted off the frame. The only Studebaker parts that will be used is the main body, doors, deck lid and rear bumper. Everything from the cowl forward will be fiberglass. The second picture shows Rod building a frame useing 2" X 3" rectangular tubing. The driver will be sitting where the back seat used to be.
